Building the Future
Strategic Advisor, Mid-Rise Construction, WoodSolutions
Robert has been active in the property industry for more than 30 years - the past 18 with Frasers Property Australia (formally Australand). During his time as General Manager at Frasers/Australand, Robert was the driving force behind the company’s foray into timber medium-rise construction, resulting in the company building The Green - Australia’s first five-storey timber apartment building built using traditional domestic construction labour and delivering significant cost savings.
This “domestically-built” apartment building and Lendlease's Forte Living apartments together were the catalyst to changes to the Australian Building Code in 2016 that allowed a “deemed to satisfy provision” for timber buildings less than 25 meters in height.
As a developer, Robert believes the use of lightweight timber construction for residential medium-rise in the middle-ring suburbs is a game changer. He is active in many industry forums, including founder and director of Housing All Australians, and he is on the national boards of Salvation Army Housing, Summer Housing Limited and the Property Industry Foundation.
Please welcome Robert Pradolin.
