Frame Australia has announced the 2016 conference and exhibition will be held on Monday May 23 in Melbourne titled “Building construction with prefabricated timber and engineered wood”.
Frame is the only national event for the complete supply chain of timber building construction systems for detached housing, multi-residential and commercial projects.
The 2016 conference will comprise sessions for all delegates, and sessions with two topic streams of building design and construction, and manufacturing of prefabricated timber and engineered wood.
This program permits a one day activity which is strongly preferred by delegates, and enables a choice of topics for building or manufacturing depending on individual interests.
Expanding the topics program builds on success in the two previous one day events, in 2014 primarily on manufacture of prefabricated timber and engineered wood, and in 2015 on building design, engineering, and construction systems.
A major aspect in merging of topics at the conference is to bring together delegates from building design and engineering, building and construction, timber and engineered wood, and the manufacture and supply of prefabricated building systems.
This is to meet the rapidly growing attraction both globally and in Australia for construction of buildings using prefabricated timber and wood systems for the design opportunities offered, and lower cost outcomes from faster building times.
Further, the expected changes to the National Construction Code in 2016 for timber building up to 8 levels will substantially increase opportunities for designers and builders to use timber building systems.
The conference will also be an occasion to present the latest manufacturing trends in automated equipment for production of prefabricated building components including truss & frame, cassette, panelised and mass timber construction.
